Throughout an extraordinary succession of conquests, Alexander the Great's beautiful high-spirited stallion Bucephalas carried him as far as India, where he died in battle (and where Alexander built the city of Bucephala as a perpetual tribute to his beloved horse). These solid 18 k gold earrings by Santa Fe designer Nora Pierson are cast from an ancient Greek coin with an image of the mighty Bucephalas. 3/4 " diameter.
